Today, the ECB has announced which players have been selected to represent franchises in the 2024 edition of the Hundred, as the Vitality Wildcard picks were unveiled earlier!
Middlesex's Ryan Higgins has been named as one of London Spirit's Wildcard picks, and he will join Ravi Bopara for the competition at the Lord's based franchise from late July.
Higgins, 29, has previous experience in The Hundred, having represented Welsh Fire during the inaugural edition in 2021.
The Zimbabwe-born all-rounder has played 118 matches in the T20 format, scoring 2,044 runs and claiming 82 wickets at 26.90 apiece.
Higgins is one of five Middesex players who will feature in the fourth edition of the Hundred this year, alongside Tom Helm, who is with Birmingham Phoenix, Stephen Eskinazi, who teams up with Welsh Fire again, Leus du Plooy, who returns to Southern Brave, and Max Holden, who remains retained by Manchester Originals.
Today's Vitality Wildcard pick announcements also saw four Sunrisers players drafted to franchises, with Lissy Macleod picked up by Birmingham Phoenix, Jodi Grewcock by Northern Superchargers, Amara Carr by Oval Invincibles and Kate Coppack by Welsh Fire.
We wish them all every success in the coming tournament.
