MIDDLESEX V GLOUCESTERSHIRE & SUSSEX SHARKS | SQUADS & MATCH PREVIEWS

MIDDLESEX V GLOUCESTERSHIRE & SUSSEX SHARKS | SQUADS & MATCH PREVIEWS

Middlesex finish off their 2024 Vitality Blast campaign this week as we take on Gloucestershire and Sussex Sharks in back-to-back matches tomorrow and Friday.

Despite being unable to qualify for the quarter-finals, we will be looking to finish our campaign on a high – having won our last two matches against Gloucestershire and Glamorgan late last week.

First up, we welcome Gloucestershire to the Cloud County Ground in Chelmsford, where we will be looking to complete the double over the West Country outfit after we defeated them at Cheltenham College on Thursday.

It’s a must-win match for our visitors, who are still in contention for reaching the knockout stages. However, if Middlesex win, then Essex will qualify ahead of their final game against Hampshire Hawks at the Utilita Bowl.

With the bat, Miles Hammond (362 runs) and James Taylor (324 runs) are Gloucestershire's leading run-scorers. David Payne (24 wickets) is the competition's leading wicket taker and Matt Taylor (21 wickets) is also amongst the leading wicket takers in the competition.

Thursday will be the last time you’ll be able to see five Middlesex players in action (Stephen Eskinazi, Leus du Plooy, Tom Helm, Ryan Higgins and Max Holden) at home before they join up with their Hundred franchises at the weekend and they’ll be out of action for the Seaxes until the Vitality County Championship clash against Northamptonshire at Merchant Taylors’ School in late August. Tickets are still available for tomorrow night's match and can be purchased HERE.

Friday’s hosts, Sussex Sharks, are already through to the knockout stages and have a home quarter-final in early September.

Daniel Hughes and Tom Alsop are leading the way for the Sharks with the bat, having scored 451 and 326 runs respectively – notching six half-centuries between them.

With the ball, Tymal Mills and James Coles have shone – striking 21 and 15 times respectively – taking five four-wicket hauls collectively…

If you are unable to attend either match, then you can catch all the action on the live streams.

Our Enhanced live stream will provide coverage of the match against Gloucestershire on Thursday, whilst our hosts on Friday night, Sussex, will be streaming our last match in the competition. Both matches will be available on the Middlesex website.
