Middlesex's women strengthened their position at the top of the London Championship table last weekend as they defeated Surrey by three wickets at Mill Hill School.
A superb display of bowling from Sonali Patel, who took 5/26, set up the victory and ensured that her side remain unbeaten in this year's competition.
Patel caused mayhem early on after her captain won the toss and elected to bowl first. The 21-year-old claimed the wickets of Daisy Feast, Laxmi Johal and Madeleine Blinkhorn-Jones as Surrey were reduced to 15/3 in the fourth over.
Gole took the key wicket of Amy Gordon, bowling the Surrey captain for just two before Patel continued to wreak havoc for the batters.
Bowling her 10 overs on the bounce, the seamer picked her first five wicket-haul of the competition this year, also dismissing Robyn Bentley (4) and opener Ellie Barker, who top-scored with 14.
The visitors couldn't recover and found themselves in more trouble with the introduction of Anisha Dissanayake. The leg-spinner bowled with control and finished with figures of 4/26 as Surrey were dismissed for 81 inside 31 overs.
Middlesex lost early wickets in the chase and were suddenly 31/4. Riva Pindoria (33) and Lucy Porter (13) built a valuable partnership of 32, running well between the wickets in the middle overs.
Pindoria struck four boundaries in her 36-ball innings to take Middlesex closer to victory. Two more wickets fell, leaving the score on 68/6 - 14 runs shy of the target.
It was fitting that the star with the ball, Patel, saw her side home with the bat, finishing unbeaten on five - helping Middlesex secure win inside 22 overs.
Middlesex Women are next in action this Sunday when they take on Kent and Buckinghamshire in the Women's County T20.
