SHEPHERD'S BUSH CC HOST VERY FIRST WOMEN'S SOFTBALL CRICKET FESTIVAL

Women’s cricket is enjoying a real moment in Middlesex right now, and a series of four softball festivals are being held in Middlesex clubs this season to gauge interest in a potential new Women’s Softball Cricket League for 2025. The Shepherd’s Bush Cricket Club Festival saw many players making their match debuts, and the newly formed Stanmore’s Women’s team played for the first time.

Ex-England/Middlesex player and current Managing Director of Middlesex in the Community, Angus Fraser, came down to support the event and commented: ”Watching the women play was a real treat. Everyone seemed to love it and was having a really enjoyable time. It was lovely to see and hear people having fun playing cricket. It would be great to see more days like this taking place as it seemed a cracking way to spend a warm, summer Sunday afternoon. Well done Shepherds Bush for organising the day and well done to all the clubs that took part. The burgers were good too?.

Shepherd’s Bush Cricket Club’s women’s team is now in it’s third year, and has players aged from 16 to 60s, including complete beginners and more experienced cricketers. Anyone interested in joining the team can get in touch: [email protected]
