REPORT ON LATEST MEMBERS' WALK | TALK | CONNECT EVENT RUN BY THE CLUB

MIDDLESEX CRICKET HOSTS LATEST WALK | TALK | CONNECT EVENT

Middlesex Cricket held its latest Walk | Talk | Connect event on the morning of Friday 2nd August, as members joined Angus Fraser for a scenic walk in excellent weather from Swiss Cottage Station to Primrose Hill, through Regents Park and on to the Lord’s Indoor School, where refreshments were taken. The walk was just over 2 miles and was covered at a leisurely walk and talk pace in just over an hour.

Almost twenty members took part in the walk, where they were able to talk about all things Middlesex before listening to an interesting and informative talk from Angus about his former role as an England selector. Angus covered lots of associated topics including breaking bad news to players, selection criteria, reconciling opinions and reaching decisions, and managing difficult people.

The group also got the opportunity to ask questions and were not only able to ask questions about the talk, but also delved into many other cricket topics. The questions and answer session came to a close at around 12.45pm when the event was brought to a close with a hearty round of applause for Angus.

This was the second such Walk | Talk | Connect event to be held in 2024, after our successful walk in February where participants were able to watch the players in pre-season training at Merchant Taylors’ School .

There is one further Walk | Talk | Connect event planned in the diary for 2024, post season, so keep an eye out for information on this coming your way when the finer details are confirmed.

These walks were launched for 2023 to allow members and their guests to meet new and familiar faces, do some exercise, and talk about cricket, and have since proved hugely popular with members.

If you’re keen to join us on the next Walk | Talk | Connect, keep an eye out on the website for further information, which will also be emailed to members, and we hope we can get a good number in attendance.

Members will be able find details of future walks and other member events on the Club's members' events page on the website HERE,
