We are today delighted to announce that red-ball Captain, Toby Roland-Jones, has signed a one-year extension to his contract with the Club, which will see the talismanic seamer remain at Lord’s until at least the end of the 2025 season.
Roland-Jones was contracted until the end of 2024 with an option to extend for a further year, which both he and the Club have now exercised.
This summer Roland-Jones has again proved how important he is to the Club, not only as a leader on and off the field, but as the spearhead of the Middlesex pace attack.
He is currently the third highest wicket taker in Division Two of the Vitality County Championship, with 37 wickets in the competition, and has steered Middlesex to the brink of promotion, sitting in second place in the table with just three games remaining.
In 142 first-class matches for Middlesex, Roland-Jones has taken a staggering 517 wickets at an average of just 25.48 and has 27 five-wicket hauls and six ten-wicket match hauls for the Club. With the bat he has weighed in with 3,577 runs at an average of 21.94, has hit 15 half centuries and one century, with a highest score of 103*.
Speaking of Roland-Jones signing an extension to his terms with the Club, Middlesex Cricket’s Director of Cricket, Alan Coleman, commented:
“We are absolutely delighted that Toby has agreed to the further year on his contract and that he will be a Middlesex player for the 2025 season.
“This year he has been as good as ever, and has delivered consistent performances week in, week out, with figures to back it up.
“He is terrific role model for the younger players in our group, always leading by example, giving everything for the side, and he leads the group brilliantly, both on and off the field.
“There’s no better sight than seeing Rojo pumped up, in good rhythm, and with the wind in his sails, and we’re delighted that we’ve got another year of it to look forward to.”
Roland-Jones himself commented:
“I am extremely proud to represent this Club and to Captain the side in the red-ball format is a real honour. I am delighted to have signed an extension to my terms with Middlesex.
“I am really excited about what the remainder of this season holds and hope that we can all achieve our goal of taking the Club back up into Division One.
“I look forward to continuing to give my all for Middlesex Cricket and to helping the Club achieve success on the field.”
