Middlesex Cricket are delighted to announce today that highly rated young batter Aaryan Sawant has signed his first professional contract with the Club until at least the end of the 2026 season.
Harrow-on-the-Hill-born Sawant, educated at Merchant Taylors’ School, is still only 18, and has made a huge impression in the Club’s EPG programme in recent seasons and has also made his mark in Second Eleven cricket for Middlesex.
The youngster who has played through the age groups with Middlesex, made his Second Eleven debut for the Club at the age of just 15 in 2021 and has since gone on to make five Second Eleven T20 appearances and ten Second Eleven Championship appearances for the Club.
Earlier this year, he notched his first century for the Second Eleven in Championship cricket, when hitting an unbeaten hundred against Hampshire at Radlett in April, before hitting 70 in his very next game against Essex, and then knocks of 72 in the first innings and a match winning unbeaten 173* in the second innings against Yorkshire.
In three Second Eleven Championship matches in 2024 the youngster has hit a staggering 436 runs, with two hundreds, two fifties, at an average of 145.33.
Speaking of young Sawant signing his first professional contract with the Club, Managing Director of Cricket, Alan Coleman, commented:

“Aaryan is an exceptionally talented young batter who has a huge future in the game, and he’s already proved that he’s got what’s required to make the step up to the next level.

On signing professional terms with Middlesex, Aaryan Sawant himself said:
