Middlesex Cricket is delighted to announce that seventeen-year-old Sebastian Morgan has been awarded his first professional contract with the Club, signing a rookie deal until the end of 2027.
The Spanish-born right-arm quick is a product of the Middlesex youth system and has graduated through the Club’s Academy, impressing through the age groups and more recently in both the Under 16 and Under 18 EPG sides.
His efforts in the Middlesex EPG programme earned him a call up to the England Under 19 squad – with him making his Under 19 ODI debut for his country against Bangladesh in late 2023 in England’s quadrangular series in India. In early 2024 he then featured in England’s Under 19 World Cup campaign in South Africa, before finishing the 2024 season with two further international appearances against Ireland Under 19s at Loughborough.
On the domestic front with Middlesex, Morgan made his debut for the Club’s Second Eleven in mid-2023 at the age of just fifteen and has made a total of six appearances to date across the two Second Eleven formats.
Speaking of Sebastian Morgan signing his first professional contract with Middlesex, the Club’s Managing Director of Cricket, Alan Coleman, commented:
“Sebastian is an outstanding talent, who has shown time and again that he has all the qualities he needs to develop into a high-class cricketer.
“At every stage of his development he has stepped up and proved that he’s ready to take on more, and he has a huge appetite to learn and improve. Signing his first professional contract with Middlesex will bring him into an environment where his development can be accelerated, and we are excited to see how Sebastian’s game evolves in the coming seasons.
“Sebastian will continue his studies at Winchester College throughout 2025 and will be available for Middlesex around his educational commitments.”
On signing professional terms with Middlesex, Sebastian Morgan, himself said:
“I am delighted to have signed for Middlesex having been a part of the County age group set up since the under 12s.
“I have been very fortunate to have played alongside such a strong year group and to have enjoyed some great successes with my teammates over the years.
“I’d like to thank all my coaches from throughout my cricketing journey for all their guidance and help along the way.”
