HELP RAISE FUNDS FOR DAVID 'SYD' LAWRENCE WHO HAS MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE

Former England and Gloucestershire cricketer, David ‘Syd’ Lawrence, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in June last year.

MND is a condition that causes muscle weakness that progressively gets worse over time.

Lawrence played five Test matches for England and 185 first-class matches in his career – finishing with 18 Test wickets and 515 first-class wickets in total.

So far, Lawrence has received great help from the cricketing community, including that of the Professional Cricketers’ Trust – the charitable arm of the Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA). He has had a new chair and house alterations funded by the Trust, allowing him to move around more freely.

In addition to this support, you can play your part too and here’s how…

Lawrence’s England and Gloucestershire teammate-turned-artist, Jack Russell MBE, painted a scene from their Test debut at Lord’s against Sri Lanka at Lord’s in 1988 and there are 300 prints that have been made available to raise further funds.

So far, 200 prints have been sold meaning that only 100 remain.

Each print is titled, numbered and hand-signed by the artist. Each print is also embossed with the Jack Russell Gallery stamp to stop fraud. The historic image of Lord’s measures 19 inches by 13 inches and has an additional two-inch white border.

This exclusive print has a market value of £250, but could be yours for a minimum donation of £150 plus £15 postage and packaging. ALL DONATIONS WILL GO DIRECTLY TO LAWRENCE AND HIS FAMILY.

If you would like a print, please contact [email protected].
