The Middlesex Junior Cricket Association’s programme of winter cricket reached its climax at Lord’s on Sunday (30 March 2025) after a winter of highly competitive and enjoyable indoor cricket. The Finals Day, which began at 8.15am and finished 11 hours later at approx. 7pm, witnessed 18 boys and girls teams having the honour of going head to head in nine finals at the Indoor Cricket Centre, Lord’s.
The day is the culmination of five months of competitive cricket, in which 40 clubs entered 166 teams, that then played 324 matches. All the matches prior to Finals Day took place at Gunnersbury Park Hub, Totteridge Academy and Christ’s College in Finchley. The format of the games is 8 players per team, 12 overs per side, where four pairs of batters bat for three overs each.
Nine clubs had the pleasure of playing at Lord’s with Stanmore CC (four teams), Ealing and Highgate (three teams) having the largest representation. The results are below –

As can be seen by the numbers mentioned above, this is an enormous competition that takes a considerable amount of organisation. In appreciation of this Middlesex In The Community would like to thank James Grigg, Clifford Pile and Robert Tripp for all their help and support, and Ashish Lakhlani for organising all the umpiring. Special thanks, however, must go to Peter Hollman for the time, energy and commitment he puts in to making sure this tournament runs as smoothly and efficiently as it does.
Peter, remarkably, is looking to expand the competition for the 2025/26 winter by increasing the number of venues these matches are played at. The cost of running a competition like this is sizeable (over £30,000) so if anybody is interested in sponsoring the tournament in any shape or form, could they please email [email protected].
