SQUAD & PREVIEW | MIDDLESEX WOMEN V KENT | METRO BANK ONE-DAY CUP

SQUAD OF THIRTEEN NAMED FOR MIDDLESEX WOMEN'S OPENING CLASH OF THE 2025 SEASON IN THE METRO BANK ONE-DAY CUP

Middlesex Women’s first season as a Tier Two side gets underway tomorrow when they welcome Kent to Radlett Cricket Club in the opening match of the Metro Bank One-Day Cup.

Head Coach, Marc Broom, has named a squad of 13 for the clash, who will be looking to set the tone for the season ahead.

Bex Tyson comes in, on loan from Hampshire, while Saskia Horley will lead the side in her first competitive fixture as Captain.

After a valiant showing against Tier One opposition Essex in last week’s warm-up friendly, Middlesex will be looking to make their mark in this new era of women’s domestic cricket.

Essex proved tough opponents, but the hard-fought contest featured several encouraging performances. A composed half-century from Georgia Irving marked the Club’s first as a Tier Two side, and bodes well for tomorrow’s clash. In addition, bowling figures of 3/51 from Horley is yet another positive sign as the team heads into competitive action.

Both sides tomorrow, much like the rest of the field, will be heading into largely uncharted territory, in a season where much is yet to be revealed. Kent will be coming off the back of a pre-season T20 double header against University of Exeter Women, when each side took one win apiece.

This weekend marks a significant step towards professionalisation for the club. With that in mind, Middlesex’s squad for the momentous clash is as follows:

Entry is free for all spectators and the game gets underway at 10.30am. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch all the action on Middlesex’s live stream of the match – available to watch on the Club’s website in the Match Centre, or direct on the Club’s YouTube channel.
