Middlesex Cricket is delighted to release a new Educational Opportunities programme, with coaching programmes tailored to suit schools around the County.
There are lots of opportunities for staff and students at every school across Middlesex to get involved in cricket, and we are looking to make it as accessible as possible by bringing training, mentoring and coaching courses to them.

On-site training designed in conjunction with school staff to ensure the outcomes are what the staff are looking for which will support the school curriculum and outcomes.
On-site mentoring programme. A coach developer can come to school and work alongside the staff when delivering cricket sessions, to support them and ensure the best outcome for the pupils.
This three hour programme has been designed to develop a learner’s knowledge, skills and confidence to support qualified coaches. The course content includes:
- Supporting coaches and players
- Icoachcricket
- Communicating with coaches and players
- Supporting fielding, bowling and batting
- Safety
- Differentiation
An ECB Support Coach is not qualified to lead coaching sessions independently and therefore must be supervised by a qualified cricket coach.
The commitment to the programme is two days. The programme is a blend of e-learning and face-to-face modules led by ECB Coach Developers will explore what coaching looks like, the impact you can have as an ECB Foundation Coach, the skills you can help players to develop and how you can learn from your experiences.
By committing yourself to this programme and becoming a qualified coach you will become an important part of the ECB’s coaching family that works together to help players improve, have fun, be safe and learn at every stage of their development.
This programme has been designed to develop a learner’s knowledge, skills and confidence to use icoachcricket to coach safe, fun and inclusive sessions that ignite a lifelong love of the game. An ECB Foundation Coach will be qualified to lead coaching sessions independently and without supervision.
The commitment for the Core Coach course is four days. The programme is a blend of e-learning and face-to-face modules led by ECB Coach Developers will explore the player-centred planning process, player development, the skills you can help players to develop and how you can learn from your experiences.
By committing yourself to this programme and becoming a qualified coach you will become an important part of the ECB’s coaching family that works together to help players improve, have fun, be safe and learn at every stage of their development. This programme has been designed to give learners the knowledge, skills and confidence to lead player-centred coaching sessions. An ECB Core Coach will be qualified to lead coaching sessions independently and without supervision.
Aimed at 13 – 18-year-olds. Commitment is three hours.
Creating a wave of officials. This is a three hour course where students will learn about scoring and umpiring, each student will receive a shirt and a clicker and they will gain confidence to support their school or their club and help officiate an appropriate level of game.
Available for 16+ years. Commitment is three hours.
