MIKE BAKER

Biography

Mike has been a CEO in the charity sector for over 25 years.Among the charities he has run are World Animal Protection, The Brooke and The Donkey Sanctuary.He has worked both in the UK and internationally on policy issues, including a term on the Home Office advisoryAnimal Procedures Committee.Internationally, he has actively engaged with UN agencies and governments across all continents on a wide range of policy issues.In the UK, he is currently engaged with the efforts to deliver an Independent Football Regulator through Fair Game UK.

An experienced trustee, he brings a wealth of expertise on charity governance, finance and strategy.As well as being a trustee, Mike has experience as a Chair, when President of Eurogroup for Animals and as Chair of the UK Alliance for Rabies Control.He currently sits as a trustee on the Grimsby Town Foundation, which has a similar brief to MITC in connection with football in North East Lincolnshire.

Mike is a sports fanatic, with a love of cricket and football in particular.He has been a football coach for many years and continues to support and watch Grimsby Town.Living near Canterbury, he is a Kent County Cricket member and an active walking cricketer. Born in Hackney and living much of his early life in Haringey and other areas in the Middlesex part of London he is keen to help MITC make cricket more accessible for all and deliver positive outcomes for some of the most deprived and excluded communities.
